Wyndham supports new suburban rail loop

Wyndham has welcomed the State Government’s announcement of a $50 billion Suburban rail loop.

The loop would include a rail link between Werribee city centre and Melbourne Airport, providing a big boost to Wyndham’s economy.

The proposed infrastructure would also reduce traffic congestion on main roads and create thousands of jobs, City Mayor, Cr Peter Maynard said.

The State Government has made an ongoing commitment to undertake longer term planning in Melbourne’s West to enhance liveability in the future.

Wyndham City is experiencing rapid population growth, outgrowing Geelong, the second largest city in Victoria. And is expected to reach 435,000 by 2036.
