AirAsia touches down in Wyndham

AirAsia will be launching flights from Malaysia to Avalon Airport, presenting many economic opportunities for the local economy.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Peter Maynard says that having an international airport will mean the city’s existing industries can capitalise on new investment opportunities, whilst also opening opportunities for new industries to be established to support this new international hub.

AirAsia X Malaysia CEO Ben Ismail is said to have projected 500,000 inward and outward bound passengers will travel through Avalon in the first year. And that future demand for these flights would likely increase very rapidly.

Mr. Ismail also noted that there was the potential for new routes to open as well to places such as Sri Lanka and the Maldives, which would appeal to all Victorians.

AirAsia flights to Avalon Airport will commence from Wednesday 5th December 2018.
