Works begin on new community centre
Construction has commenced on Wyndham Vale’s new $13.2 million community centre.
The community centre, which began construction on March 26th, will include an Integrated Family Centre and Wyndham Aboriginal Community Centre, as well as shared community meeting spaces.
Cr Peter Maynard said that the new community centre will also provide new kindergartens and other children’s and family services. These will include:
- 3 kindergarten rooms
- A playground
- Consulting rooms for maternal and child health
- 2 community activity rooms for larger functions
- Dedicated spaces for the Aboriginal community
All the centre’s spaces will be brought together by a large courtyard at the centre of the facility.
Construction is expected to be complete by mid 2019.
