Hoppers Crossing upgrades begin

Works to widen and upgrade part of Hoppers Crossing have commenced.

Forsyth road between Old Geelong road and Sayers road will be upgraded to increase the number of lanes from two to four. A new signalised intersection at Waterways Boulevard and signalised pedestrian crossing at Federation Trail will also be constructed.

These upgrades will go a long way towards easing growing congestion along this road, which provides an important link to the freeway interchange.

The State Government is planning significant works at the Forsyth Road interchange as part of its Western Roads upgrade package. The works will add an extra lane in each direction, replace the roundabout at Ashcroft Avenue with traffic lights and widen the bridge over Princes Freeway.

State Government works are expected to commence in 2019, just before the completion of the Wyndham City upgrades.
