Ceramic skills: hand-building

Come and get your hands dirty as local artist and sculptor, Carolyn Warren-Langford, teaches you the three fundamental techniques of hand-building: coiling, pinch pot & slab building.

Over eight weeks, participants will be taken through a range of hands on exercises, learning how to test various decorating methods, before applying what they have learned to develop their own creations.

What you will get:

• First bag of clay, tool kit, under glazes and glazes included in course cost
• You will make and take home several ceramic objects
• A selection of test tiles for future reference
• Knowledge and basic expertise in hand-building with clay
• The confidence to make more work at home
• Clay, colour and use of tools and equipment is included.

This class takes place 30 minutes away from Grace at the Saltwater Community Centre. Wyndham Vale is home to all kinds of great social, educational and community art facilities like the Wyndham and Iramoo community centres. Kids and adults can also meet and play at 30 different sporting reserves including the world-class Eagle Stadium which is home to clubs, meeting facilities, a café and even a three-year-old kinder.
